Hypoparathyroidism It is a state of inadequate parathyroid hormone (PTH). It results from defective synthesis or secretion of PTH, end organ resistance, or inappropriate regulations. Hypoparathyroidism may be transient, genetically inherited or acquired. Transient usually occurs during neonatal period or secondary to medication.
